Tortosa – final bit.

Totally forgot to tell you all about our last day, well,  morning really…. us girlies managed to drag the boys to the market which thankfully for them wasn’t that big but have the added bonus of being right near the first cafe that we’d found. So breakfast was consumed in the cafe before we checked out of the hotel and went to explore the Deltebre.

It’s quite wierd as in the middle of nowhere you gave a sudden glut of boat trips and ceramic shops to tempt the spending dosh out of the pockets of holiday makers.

But we resisted temptation and made our way back home with a relaxing drive back and much snoozing!

Tortosa – day 2

Today is the day for fishing! So after a buffet breakfast in the hotel ~ cost 7€ per person~ but worth every penny as it was breakfast and lunch for all of us as we may have sneaked sone extra bread, cheese and ham out, not to mention the cakes, fruit and yoghurt! Obviously this is only because we’re not sure how many cafés there are along the river!!

So we found a local spot near Xerta where we left the lads to set up, while Deb and I explored the village for a coffee, spying some lovely street art and fabulous doors on the walk around.

We then made our way back to the river where the lads had caught 2 fish and 2 eels.

Once they’d had enough we then eventually navigated the way back to Tortosa and up to the Parador hotel which has amazing views over the town.

On the evening we had nibbles in our room and Jim did an amazing trick with a bag of crisps!

Then we went back to the same restaurant, where Jim had a huge hamster!
